Beaverton, Banks, and Beyond will be the perfect chance to check out northern Washington County, including Vernonia and Stub Steward State Park.

The event is being put on by the NW Bicycle Safety Council, an all-volunteer organization that works to educate youth and adults on topics related to cycling, with a focus on safety.

Are beavers to blame for Fanno Creek Trail flooding?


Anyone who rides along the Fanno Creek Trail in Tigard should be familiar with the constant, year-round problem of flooding at Scholls Ferry Road.

The underpass began flooding shortly after it was built. Originally the problem was confined to rainy wintery months but now the section of trail under Scholls Ferry is submerged even in the middle of the summer.

A number of factors are to blame for this situation.

Recently I discovered a stack of flyers posted on a pole near the underpass. They appear to be the work of a citizen and trail user who’s urging others to contact the city and ask for a solution.

Three trains, two bikes, one candy bar, and one reunion


Brompton by WESOver the weekend my wife and I took a trip from Tigard to Eugene for her high school class reunion.

There were many things that made the trip a lot of fun. We caught up with old friends, the weather was great, there was lots of delicious food, etc.

The other thing that made the trip great was how easy and relaxing it was to travel with two bikes on three different trains.
